We are the local NC chapter of Families for Russian and Ukrainian Adoption (FRUA), a nonprofit support network for adoptive families with children from Eastern Europe, Russia, and other former Soviet countries

We are a group of volunteer adoptive families working to provide support for adoptive families before, during and after the adoption process.

Currently we have families that adopted children from Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Kazakhstan, etc. We have events throughout the year including seminars and picnics highlighting eastern European culture.

To join the North Carolina chapter, visit the national FRUA website at http://www.frua.org/.

FRUA NC is looking for new officers!

Are you the adoptive parent (or soon-to-be adoptive parent) of a child from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Georgia, or another EE country?

Do you have a little time and desire to connect with other adoptive families?

Please consider getting involved. An organizational meeting will be held at the end of May, 2009.

In the meantime, be sure to join our mailing list.

We welcome all those interested in participating in FRUA-NC and meeting other families who have or are in the process of adopting from Eastern Europe!

We need volunteers to help or serve on committees such as membership, family support, website and newsletter development, grow bag and lending locker program, and play groups.  We need your help to keep our chapter active to support the many families who adopt from Eastern Europe!

If you are interested in the FRUA-NC local chapter but unable to attend the picnic, you may obtain more information and upcoming events from our website at www.fruanc.org

Stay tuned for our speaker series...
